Introducing Wolfhead Distillery’s 4th Pot Still Rye Release

There's something about history that makes you sentimental, and ours goes back not too long ago. In 2016, we opened the distillery and began filling and setting aside barrels of what would become very special releases of our original whisky. Each of these barrels marked the beginning of an era for Wolfhead. What started as a small craft distillery has grown into something much more for many Wolfpack members, staff, and visitors.

In May, our distiller Michael Johnstone opened these barrels and tested them to find that 3 of them were perfect for our fourth release: Pot Still Rye. This is our oldest rye to date, aged 7 years in French white oak barrels, giving this cask strength 59.6% whisky earthy and vanilla notes that make this strong whisky smooth.

It’s one of our best, and we can only see it getting better in the years to come as our original barrels age.
